Inconel 602CA is a nickel-chromium-iron-aluminum high-temperature alloy micro-alloyed with yttrium and zirconium. With high chromium and high aluminum content, it forms a dense double-layer oxide protective film. The addition of rare earth yttrium greatly improves the adhesion of the oxide layer, making it resistant to peeling under hot and cold cycling. It has top-notch resistance to high-temperature oxidation, carburization, sulfuration, chlorine-containing flue gas, and metal dust corrosion. The combination of carbon, zirconium, and titanium provides excellent long-term creep strength at high temperatures, with stable microstructure at 1200°C. It also has excellent weldability and forming process, and under high-temperature conditions, it rarely produces scale that contaminates workpieces. Because of this, for many years, it has been widely used in extreme high-temperature corrosion environments such as mineral calcination furnaces, waste incineration radiation tubes, heat treatment muffle furnaces, coal gasification equipment, glass melting tools, carbon fiber production furnace tubes, and nitric acid catalyst supports.

Chemical Composition

Nickel (Ni) content is the balance; it forms the matrix of Inconel 602CA alloy, stabilizes the austenitic structure, and provides long-term high-temperature toughness and basic corrosion resistance.
Chromium (Cr) content is 24.00%–26.00%, forming an outer chromium oxide protective layer that resists high-temperature oxidation and sulfidation.
Iron (Fe) content is 8.00%–11.00%, optimizing hot and cold workability while reducing raw material costs.
Aluminum (Al) content is 1.80%–2.40%, forming a dense inner aluminum oxide film to block corrosive media penetration.
Yttrium (Y) content is 0.05%–0.12%; the rare earth element strengthens the oxide film adhesion and suppresses peeling during thermal cycling.
Zirconium (Zr) content is 0.01%–0.10%, refining grain boundaries, preventing high-temperature grain growth, and improving creep resistance.
Titanium (Ti) content is 0.10%–0.20%, stabilizing high-temperature structure and reducing brittle phase precipitation.
Carbon (C) content is 0.15%–0.25%, with appropriate carbon forming grain boundary carbides, significantly enhancing high-temperature long-term strength.
Manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), copper (Cu), phosphorus (P), and sulfur (S) are limited to no more than 0.15%, 0.50%, 0.10%, 0.020%, and 0.010% respectively; impurities are strictly controlled to ensure long-term high-temperature stability (VDM Metals).

Mechanical Properties

Tensile Strength: 680 MPa, showing the maximum stretching force the material can withstand.
Yield Strength: 270 MPa, indicating the force at which the material starts to permanently deform.
Elongation: 30%, indicating the maximum deformation before breaking; the sheet bending and furnace tube forming are less likely to crack.
Hardness: 210 HB, showing the material's resistance to surface indentation; machining in annealed state is excellent.
Fatigue Strength: stable under high-temperature sulfur, chlorine, and carburizing alternating thermal environments; repeated heating and cooling does not easily cause peeling or cracking.
Elastic Modulus: 215 GPa, reflects the material's stiffness; deformation under high-temperature load is small, ensuring strong dimensional stability of high-temperature furnace components.
