GH4742 superalloy is a precipitation-hardening deformation superalloy based on nickel, with a service temperature range of 700°C to 750°C. Its key performance characteristics are as follows:

‌ Room Temperature Strength‌: Tensile strength ≥ 1350 MPa, yield strength ≥ 980 MPa, elongation approximately 15% ‌
‌ High Temperature Strength‌: At 750°C, tensile strength still remains at approximately 850 MPa, yield strength approximately 720 MPa ‌
‌ Durability Properties‌: Under 750°C and 450 MPa stress conditions, the fracture life is typically over 100 hours ‌
‌ Fatigue Properties‌: 650°C fatigue limit of 10⁷ cycles can reach 450 MPa ‌

‌ Density‌: Approximately 8.22 g/cm³ ‌
‌ Thermal Conductivity‌: At room temperature, approximately 12.5 W/(m·K), at 700°C, approximately 21.5 W/(m·K) ‌

Processing and Structure
‌ Heat Treatment‌: Solution treatment (1040 - 1060°C ± 15°C × 4 - 8 hours water quenching) + aging treatment (760 - 800°C ± 15°C × 16 - 20 hours air cooling) ‌
‌ Processing Characteristics‌: Forging temperature 1110 - 1160°C, hot rolling temperature similar; Cold processing requires annealing treatment to improve formability ‌

Mainly used for high-temperature load-bearing components such as turbine discs, compressor discs, combustion chamber parts of aircraft engines, as well as high-temperature components of rocket engines, petrochemical equipment, etc.

Chemical properties
The chemical composition of GH4742 superalloy is based on nickel (about 55%), mainly consisting of chromium (13%-15%), cobalt (9%-11%), molybdenum (4.5%-5.5%), aluminum (2.4%-2.8%), titanium (2.4%-2.8%), and niobium (2.4%-2.8%). The addition of other elements such as carbon (0.04%-0.08%), iron (≤1%), and boron (≤0.01%) further optimizes the alloy's properties.
