GH4090 is a nickel-based precipitation hardening type high-temperature alloy, featuring excellent high-temperature strength, creep resistance and oxidation resistance. Its long-term operating temperature can reach 900℃ (up to 980℃ for short periods). Its performance characteristics are as follows:
High-temperature strength and creep resistance
It shows outstanding creep resistance in the 815-870℃ range, with a tensile strength of ≥ 300 MPa at 900℃, a durability life exceeding 100 hours (under standard testing conditions). At 700℃, it still maintains a tensile strength of ≥ 600 MPa, and the elastic modulus is 175 GPa at 700℃. ‌
Oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance
The static oxidation rate at 1100℃ is ≤ 0.1 g/(m²·h), and a dense Cr₂O₃/Al₂O₃ protective film forms on the surface, resisting gas corrosion, molten salt and chloride ion erosion, and suitable for sulfide environments. ‌
Processing and heat treatment
Hot processing should be controlled at 1100-1150℃, using isothermal forging or powder metallurgy processes; the cold workability is poor, and it is usually used in its cast or forged state. The solution treatment is to hold at 1180-1220℃ and then quench quickly, and the aging treatment is a two-stage aging at 800-850℃ to promote the precipitation of γ' phase. ‌13 Application scenario
Mainly used for high-temperature components such as turbine blades of aircraft engines, flame tubes of combustion chambers, turbine discs of gas turbines, as well as fasteners for nuclear reactors and tubes of petrochemical cracking furnaces in the industrial sector.
